Why extensions

My hair was always fine and fragile. It would break and never get past a certain length. Then I sat in the chair myself, and I will never forget the feeling.

Five methods

Hand-tied, tape-in and keratin extension methods

There is no best method, only the one that suits your hair. Fine hair and thick hair do not take the same install, so which one you get is decided in the consult, not off a menu.

01

Keratin Fusion
K-Tip Extensions

Each strand applied individually with a gentle keratin bond, for an invisible finish that moves like your own hair.

  • Strand-by-strand, fully customizable placement
  • Lightweight with natural movement
  • Lasts months with proper care

02

Individual
Tape-In Extensions

Premium human hair on an ultra-thin adhesive tape that lies flat to the scalp. Placed one at a time so the balance is yours.

  • Ultra-flat tape, undetectable finish
  • Customizable placement for seamless blending
  • Reusable through maintenance appointments
Wash, curl, straighten as normal

03

Undetectable
Tape Row Extensions

Installed in rows for even weight distribution. The fastest method there is, and the one that ends with instant gratification.

  • Installed in under an hour
  • Even weight, seamless blend
  • Hair reusable up to a year
Under one hour

04

Hand-Tied
Weft Extensions

Sewn onto a beaded foundation. Because the weft is so thin, several tones can be blended into one row, which is what makes the color read as real.

  • Ultra-thin, no unnecessary bulk
  • Built for fine to medium hair
  • Multiple tones blended in one row
Move-up every 6 to 8 weeks

05

Volume
Weft Extensions

A thicker machine-crafted weft carrying more hair per row. Fewer rows, more density, from root to end.

  • Maximum fullness, length and body
  • Built for medium to thick hair
  • Reusable through multiple move-ups
Fewest rows needed

Color matching

Hair extension color matching

Every tone she carries hangs on the rod. The hand-tied wefts are thin enough to take several of them in a single row, which is the part most people never notice and the reason it does not look installed.

About

Alisa Pose, Great Lengths certified extension specialist

She started straight out of high school, hired as a makeup artist in a big salon and spa while she finished her cosmetology licence. She built a clientele fast and never looked back.

The career turned when she got certified in Great Lengths, after sitting in the chair herself. Twenty years later she is an expert across every method, which is the whole reason she can tell you which one you actually need.

Then something was missing. She wanted a room she could call the shots in. Let Your Hair Down was the scariest thing she had ever done, and the best.

She has been doing my hair for 20 years and is the best. Is she expensive, yes. Is she worth it? You better believe it. Her knowledge and attention to detail is top notch.

Due to a recent health issue my hair was rapidly thinning. Alisa suggested extensions and matched my hair perfectly. I had so many compliments that she picked up my friends as new clients.

The grow-out is always so clean, and my extensions blend so naturally that you can’t even see them when my hair is blowing in the wind.

I’ve seen her for over 20 years and recently started getting extensions. I was reluctant but wow, they have made such a difference. My hair looks so much thicker and healthier.

Hair extension questions, answered

Which hair extension method is best?

There is no single best method. The right one depends on how fine or thick your hair is. Hand-tied wefts suit fine to medium hair because they are thin enough not to add bulk. Volume wefts suit medium to thick hair because they carry more hair per row. Keratin fusion K-tip allows the most customized placement. The method is decided in the consult, not from a menu.

How long does it take to get hair extensions installed?

It depends on the method. An Easi Hair undetectable tape row can be installed in under an hour, which is the fastest option. Keratin fusion K-tip takes the longest, because every strand is applied individually.

Can hair extensions be reused?

Yes, with professional maintenance. Easi Hair tape-in extensions are reusable during maintenance appointments, and tape row hair is reusable for up to a year. Hand-tied and volume wefts can be reused through multiple move-up appointments.

How often do hair extensions need maintenance?

Hand-tied wefts require a move-up appointment every six to eight weeks. Keratin fusion extensions can last months with proper care.

Will hair extensions work on fine or fragile hair?

Yes. Hand-tied wefts are made specifically for fine to medium hair, because the weft is ultra-thin and lies flat without adding unnecessary bulk. Alisa's own hair was fine and fragile, which is why she learned extensions in the first place.

Can you style hair extensions like your own hair?

Yes. Every method uses premium quality human hair and can be washed, curled, straightened and styled like natural hair while keeping a soft appearance.
